NorthForce - a Newsletter from the City of Minneapolis

The City of Minneapolis publishes a bi-monthly newsletter for residents of the North Side. The newsletters contain some good information about what the City is doing to make the North Side a better place to live for everyone. Links to the most recent issues are provided below:

Government

The legislative body for the City of Minneapolis is the City Council. Each member of the City Council is elected to represent a specific portion of the city. The portion of the city represented by a single City Council member is called a Ward. All of Camden is in the 4th Ward, with the exception of the McKinley neighborhood, which is in the 3rd Ward.

Problem Properties

Vacant properties are occasionally commandeered by gangs or vagrants and turned into party houses or worse. Compromised vacant properties should be reported to both the Law Enforcement and Inspections arms of the city government. Contact Law Enforcement to report activity problems, and Inspections to report situation problems. Don't assume that the Law Enforcement and Inspections departments coordinate their efforts particularly well. Report problem properties to both agencies, as appropriate. If you know who owns the problem property, you may also wish to contact them as a courtesy.
